Ye Kendall Inn, a Historic Hotel in Boerne
My family and I have visited Boerne, Texas numerous times but had yet to stay at the Ye Kendall Inn until this past weekend. Hugging Boerne’s Town Square and the banks of the Cibolo Creek, Ye Kendall Inn sits in the perfect location for some much needed rest and recovery in Boerne. This historic hotel was established in 1859 and boasts a rich, Texas history both inside and outside the beautifully designed lobby and renovated rooms.

The Ye Kendall Inn

My family and I have visited Boerne, Texas numerous times but had yet to stay at the Ye Kendall Inn until this past weekend. Hugging Boerne’s Town Square and the banks of the Cibolo Creek, Ye Kendall Inn sits in the perfect location for some much needed rest and recovery in Boerne. This historic hotel was established in 1859 and boasts a rich, Texas history both inside and outside the beautifully designed lobby and renovated rooms.

During our stay, we learned that the hotel historically served as the home of the Reed Family, who began renting out spare rooms to stagecoach travelers and horsemen. Throughout its years of service, the Ye Kendall Inn housed a plethora of famous faces, including President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis and has since been established as a Texas and National Landmark.

Today, this Texas treasure undergoes an ongoing restoration and 34 uniquely decorated guestrooms, suites, and cabins now line the property to add to its unprecedented history.

Before breakfast, we explored the historic hotel grounds. As we entered the lobby, we were greeted with gorgeous interiors that attributed to an elegant ambiance. We immediately began browsing the walls, which were lined with Texas Hill Country inspired art designed by talented artists.

The detail in the restoration’s design was unparalleled. From the handsome wood flooring to the hand-picked furniture and fabrics, the Ye Kendall Inn is no stranger to luxury with a Texas twist.

Exiting the Lobby, we walked through the Courtyard where many weddings, retreats, and other events are held, and nestled in the back corner of the courtyard was a brick, outdoor fireplace, perfect for late night, fireside chats.

Adjacent to the Courtyard, there are a handful of cabins, suites, and guestrooms all unique in their exterior and interior. Our favorite accommodation was the St. John’s Chapel Suite. Guests have the luxury of staying in this beautiful white chapel, complete with quintessential Southern Charm. Neighboring the Chapel are a few cabins – our favorite being the Waco Cabin, due to my alma mater, Baylor University.

Breakfast in Boerne

Indulging In Delicious Treats at The Dienger Trading Co.

Before letting the summer heat get the best of us, we walked over to The Dienger Trading Co, a cozy cafe offering an assortment of breakfast foods, coffees, and teas.

We couldn’t help but browse the delicious array of sweets and treats as we ordered our breakfasts.

We then carefully chose our seats next to a beautiful window with lots of warm, natural light, but not before exploring the rest of the cafe and the neighboring boutique.

Breakfast at The Dienger Trading Co was delicious! With full tummies, we took a stroll along Main Street popping in and out of various stores and markets before planning out the rest of our day in Boerne.

A dear family member of ours passed unexpectedly last November and my Family and I have been working diligently to ensure that her belongings are looked after. She resided in Boerne and we have since grown to love this small town and remember her dearly when being there. We spent the rest of the day tying lose ends with banks, lawyers, and other necessities that harshly remind you time doesn’t stand still.

ter we spent some time in her home, we grabbed an early dinner at the Cypress Grille and retired to our cozy room at the Ye Kendall Inn. Despite our short-lived time in Boerne this weekend, the Ye Kendall Inn made it all the better and so much fun!

Once we finished pampering ourselves with complimentary Bulgari bath products, we draped ourselves in powder blue robes and reminisced about our short, but eventful, weekend trip at the Ye Kendall Inn in Boerne.
