Fall In Central Park
Fall is my favorite time of year: cool weather, scarfs and sweaters, warm spices – I can go on and on! Unfortunately, where I live, there is not much of a Fall season, so naturally, I could not wait to get up to the East Coast and experience this beautiful time of year first hand.

Fall In New York

This past weekend I took a quick trip up the East Coast to visit New York City. One of my best friends lives there and I could not wait to visit her during the tail end of the Fall season. Lucky enough for us, the leaves were still in full bloom. Central Park was painted in glittering gold and burgundy leaves.

Morning Coffee Run

I woke to the soft hums of traffic Friday morning and decided to start the day with a warm cup of chai tea from one of my favorite coffee shops in the city, Birch Coffee. The warm drink made strolling through the cool breeze towards Central Park much more bearable! When I finally reached the park, the vibrant colored trees were so alluring, I couldn’t help but get wonderfully lost in the park!

Central Park In The Fall

Central Park is a charming oasis I could visit over and over again, especially in the fall. Upon stumbling onto the park entrance, my friend could not help but notice how much of a juxtaposition it seemed: here lay a tranquil park buried in the organized chaos of the city. Oh, the irony!

We sauntered through the trees, stopping frequently to admire the colors. We were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather this past weekend: highs of 60 degrees and sunny in late November is almost unheard of there! As seen above, we stumbled upon a jogging trail around one of the many lakes in Central Park. This one specifically happened to have beautiful views of the surrounding buildings.

After making our way from West to East, we stopped at a delicious brick oven pizza restaurant called Nick’s Pizza on the Upper East Side. You simply cannot go to New York and not try the pizza!

Later, we decided to rent bicycles from Citi Bike NYC and ride through the Park to soak in a bit more of the scenery. This was so much fun and a great experience! I would highly recommend renting bicycles in and around the park if you have some time to explore. The bikes were $12 for a 24 hour pass and there are stations conveniently placed throughout the city. However, the only downside to the rental bikes is that you have to dock every 30 minutes and check out another bike, for liability purposes.

The closer we get to winter, the sooner the sun sets so we docked our bikes, went back to the flat to freshen up, and concluded our day of exploration eating Thai food from Thailand Restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen.
